On the National Level Auxiliarists contribute thousands of hours of public service.  These mission hours are in direct support of the US Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security.

An electronic data base available to members and the general public can be reviewed down to the individual region, division, district, flotilla and member by mission and mission hours.   Each member submits documented reports that are uploaded to the database.

The database also contains individuals’ awards, competencies, training completion certification and identification of types of member owned facilities (Vessels, Aircraft, and Radio Stations) that are used by members in support of Auxiliary missions.

For example the numbers following represent  just some of the hours that Flotilla 79 members committed to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and their community.  Members have spent 12,508 hours in mission hours. Of these, 4,034 hours were spent on the water on safety and security patrols in Tampa waters. An additional 219 hours were in direct support of search and rescue missions.  Administrative support accounted for 3,892 hours. Administrative and operational support for our local US Coast Guard added up to over 1,185 hours. Our Auxiliary Certified Instructors have spent 926 hours on Public Education. Hundreds of additional hours have been spent on such other diverse activities as Marine Dealer Visits, Public Affairs, Member Education, Recreational Vessel safety checks, Commercial Vessel Safety and Recruiting Assistance.
