| President George W. Bush visited
Coast Guard Integrated Support Command Miami
on Monday, July 31, in Miami Beach, Florida. The President was introduced to his audience by his brother, Governor Jeb Bush. The President delivered a speech which outlined his goals and directions for America. He saluted the US Coast Guard and stressed his desire to keep America economically healthy and militarily strong.
The President was warmly received by a large and enthusiastic crowd of active duty, auxiliarists and invited guests. In attendance was Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard
and Rear Adm. David Kunkel, Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District. The President and guests then boarded the USCGC Gannet for a tour of the Port of Miami. On water security was provided by the Coast Guard, CG Auxiliary, Fish and Wildlife, Miami-Dade Police as well as other state and local law enforcement agencies.
