With
nearly 30,000 members, the U.S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary actively provides safety patrols on area
waterways and regularly meets with the boating
public at marinas and in programs. We also
directly assist
the U.S. Coast Guard in non-law
enforcement programs such as search and rescue, and
marine environmental protection. Effective 1 January 2010 any person born on or after January 1, 1988, may not operate a vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or greater unless the person has in his or her possession aboard the vessel a photographic identification and a boater safety identification card. (See Florida Statute) Flotilla 84 offers a variety of boating programs for beginning, intermediate and advanced boaters who want to learn new skills and safe boating practices.
